We opened our offices in Lisbon, an important space to support the teams we have in the south. We close the year with the beginning of a new chapter in JdC's history, a moment when two realities come together: the know-how and accumulated experience of our company over 109 years of activity in the energy sector combines with the financial and operational strength of a multinational and multisectoral socioeconomic group such as Visabeira.
A great challenge begins. CoRe Capital acquires JdC and reformulates the entire Management Team. The transformation of our century-old company begins, with a strong rebranding process that promised to affirm our identity in the market combined with the start of a project that would transform the company's human capital.
This is how our slogan was born:
We set off towards Angola, designing and building a new electrical equipment factory in Luanda equipped with the most modern equipment. In the same year, Jayme da Costa - Energie was born in France, with headquarters in Paris, a geography in which we have developed countless renewable energy projects and built numerous wind and photovoltaic power plants.
We began the new millennium with the acquisition of a majority stake inEnerluz - Representations and Equipmentand, in that same year, the company Ormacosta was born, in partnership with Ormazabal & Jayme da Costa, SA.
We wereone of the first companiesof the sector to achievequality certificationaccording to EN NP ISO 9002
Jayme da Costa's management team underwent a renovation and all of its manufacturing activity was concentrated in a single property - an old locksmithin Grijó.
Today, 36 years later, the headquarters remains.
The company Jayme da Costa & Companhia was createdJayme da Costa & Companyinat Rua Trinta e Um de Janeiro, 110, Porto,whose majority shareholder was Jayme da Costa, Lda.
We were born onJanuary 16thwith the corporate name of Santos, Costa & Nogueira by Artur Augusto dos Santos, Joaquim Mendes da Costa and Artur Martins Nogueira and we were based in Lisbon. Just like today, our activity consisted ofmanufacturing and selling of LV and MV electrical equipment, motors and other industrial equipment.
Later this year, the partner Jayme da Costa joined the companyJayme da Costa, responsible for the name we have today.
